Into the Void

Gowron finished tying off the length of hemp rope to the tent pole. He turned to Aramis, who seemed the soberest of the three Guidos. "I'll tug once when we're down there, twice if we need you. Got it?" "Sure thing," he smiled. He seemed content to be the lookout. "Holler if you need anything!" Gowron chuckled mirthlessly, and followed Tezor down the hole. Tez could see warm handprints on the ladder rungs as he carefully descended. He was vulnerable, heading feet first down the ladder, but he was also feeling brave. Maybe Lily would be proud of him. Maybe not...  When they got to the bottom, they found themselves in a rough-hewn tunnel, eight feet in height, with a couple doors on the right hand side. Gowron sidled up to the first door and listened. Hearing nothing, he peered into the small barred window in the door. Sacks of grain and boxes of foodstuffs were piled on the floor as well as tucked into shelves. It smelled vaguely like a barn.  The n

"Maybe your next song should be a little more... beer friendly," Gowron suggested. "Play to the crowd." Tez thought about it, and spent the next few songs writing furiously. It was a cool, crisp Halloween afternoon, and North was psyched to be playing D&D again. Kaleb wasn't quite as enthused - he'd never played before and really couldn't see why North was so excited about. But he'd agreed to come along and watch. Leo and Gus were playing, so maybe there was something in it after all... Having reached the back of the parking lot, North looked up at the back of Chris' house and noticed that his car was nowhere to be seen. Chris had already spaced their meeting time once  today, and he'd be truly miffed if he wasn't around for the second time in one afternoon. He and Kaleb walked by the red Volkswagen bug in the parking lot ( I've never seen *this* car before, he thought. Strange.) and headed up the steps to Chris' back porch. The porch was missing all the lawn chairs and sporting equipment and assorted
